My name is Caterina Baldini and I am an English, German, and Japanese freelance translator. I went to the SSML Carlo Bo University in Florence, where I still live today, and I was lucky enough to turn my passion for languages into a job.
I had the chance to study in Germany and in the United States, and then to move to Japan, living in Gifu and Nagoya for some time – we could say for family reasons.
I have had experience as an English-Italian interpreter – which I don’t dislike – but my true love is and always be for written words.
I mainly deal with technical and specialist translations, as well as transcreations, proofreading, and website localizations.
I specialized in the fields of Agriculture and Oenology, Statistics, IT, Contracts, Medicine (Dentistry), Travel and Tourism, Fashion, and Marketing. But I am willing to deal with new topics.
I believe that communication with clients is of fundamental importance – in order to agree on deadlines or answer any possible question that may arise. Confidentiality is also a priority: I never release information about clients and projects without clients’ consent.
Who have I worked with?
With many different clients – both private and corporate clients. To name but a few:
- Patrizia Pepe.
- Museo Galileo, Florence, Italy.
- Fondazione Scienza e Tecnica, Florence, Italy.
- Pearson Italia for which I translated the seventh edition of “Statistica”, D. M. Levine, K. A. Szabat, D. F. Stephan, a cura di G. Arbia, J. Reinhold, G. Ragozini, 2018.
- “Statistical Analysis: An Interdisciplinary Introduction to Univariate & Multivariate Methods”, Sam Kash Kachigan, 1986, Radius Press, private client.
